TimeSquare!

Last time I introduced Gangnam station as Seoul’s timesquare.

But today! Let me show you the real timesquare in Seoul! Its tremendous scale will make your mouth big opened.

↑ This shiny building in the photo is just the beginning. There are 3 tremendous buildings more sonsisted of department store, movie theater, E-mart, grand bookstore etc.. It will take 3 days to look around every part in Timesquare.

↑ Inside the Timesquare there is a huge square. And all those escalator looks very fabulous right??

And of course! there is a movie theater. Its size is uncomparable.

Seoul’s Timesquare is quite different to New York’s Timesquare but I can proudly say that Seoul’s Timesquare is better! There are more things to look around and you can satisfy yourself in this place!

Visit Seoul and come to TIMESQUARE:)

Enjoy Your Day with Seoul Metro!

Almost every country has its own subway system right?

However some of the subways in certain countries are quite dangerous to use in daily lives.

But! I can proudly say that Seoul’s metro system is almost perfect in its design, safety and convenience.

Subway system really is one of the best things we are proud of in Seoul. With this transportation we can travel every single places in Seoul. It is not only cheap but also fast and safe. So when you get a great chance to visit Seoul, feel free to use the subway!

Let’s see around how Seoul Metro is like!

↑These are some photos of entrance to the subway and views inside the station. There are many small-scaled art museum and artistic advertisements in this area.

Now, let me show you how to use the subway properly!

↑You see that screen? It’s a subway ticket machine! It’s very easy to use the service. First orange one is a ticket that can only be used once and the Green one is a ticket for the senior citizen to get a free ticket. Next the Blue one is to recharge the T-money card which is a name for Seoul’s transportation card. Isn’t it simple and cute? I like recharging my T-money card with this machine :)

Now let’s have a look to the entrance to the underground subway!

↑ These are the pictures of entrance to the subway. You put your ticket in or just touch your T-money card on this machine. Third photo is a view of Kids Only entrance! This is for the young kids who doesn’t have to pay the ticket. Kids love going through this entrance! Next photo shows the convenient way for the disabled. It will be no problem with a wheelchair going through.

↑ I’m sure you must have been wondering how it looks like inside! It will never disappoint you. On the sides of the railroad, there is a long platform screen-door to make sure the passengers are safe. When the train arrives, the screen-door opens automatically. On the inside of the train, there are seats on the both sides and has an automatic door in each track. And of course, there are many seats for seniors, disabled and pregnant ladies.

With this Seoul Metro’s amazing quality service, you can visit anywhere you want! There are many attractive stations you can visit. Such as Myungdong, Gyeongbokgung, Anguk, Dongdaemun station. Promise me that you’ll visit every single stations that are magnificant!

Come and visit many of our Seoul Metro’s wonderful stations and meet the impressive system and enjoy the great service :)

First! Eventhough it’s holiday, students gotta study! right? In our school student still goes to school to have a lesson but only till the noon. With this, we can prevent ourselves from oversleeping and can still have my break time afternoon!  And almost every Korean students go to academies to keep up with the school and to make a great score to go university.

Second! I meet with my friends to go to skating, having lunch, or to have a birthday party! This is all very quality time for me to enjoy with my friends.

Third! I spend my time with my Seoul Breeze reporter friend HyeonJeong:)  We went to a restaurant to eat lunch and went to cafe to drink coffee with talking about our daily lives. Also we went to the bookstore to see the books that are interesting and listened to music which was fascinating.

Last but not least, when I feel bored I like taking pictures of me haha:) It’s a really good way of killing time right?

So these were the ways how I spent through my winter holidays!  Are you similar to my daily lives?

Golden Bell in our school!

Almost every country has a kind of quiz program on the TV, right?

In Korea we have several kinds of quiz programs and ‘Golden Bell’ is one of them.

A short explanation of this program is, this program visits many different kinds of highschool and choose 100 students to solve the quizes. They give 50 questions and students with the wrong answer gets eliminated from the chance to solve the next quiz. So ultimately, only 1 student leaves to solve the 50th quiz under the gigantic golden bell. If the student has a correct answer, that school can ring the golden bell!

Last week, this program visited our school(Dongduk girls highschool)! And of course, we rang the bell haha!

Here are some pictures~

First photo is a view of 100 students to solve the quizes!

Next photo is a picture of me and my friend under the golden bell

Third one is our school’s student who solved the last 50th quiz! She was amazing.

Fourth is a picture of a singer named ‘IU’ who goes to our school!

Last one is a photo of me and my friend who solved the quizes. She couldn’t go to the 50th quiz but she could still solve 30 quizes!

In Seoul this program is quite popular, and many schools want to participate in this program!

You should get the chance to watch this program~

King Sejong(Joseon Dynasty)

Have you heard of Hunminjeongeum? It’s Korea’s writing system!

Many countries now realize how much Hunminjeongeum is worth in its value. With this system there are absolutely nothing we can’t express through writing. It’s also selected as cultural heritage by UN. Also! Indonesian tribe named Zzia-zzia imported Hunminjeongeum as their writing system.

Wonder who made this amazing writing system?

It’s King Sejong from Joseon Dynasty. He is one of the most influential rulers in the history. He invented Hunminjeongeum in order to rescue the people from learning difficult Chinese writing system. Back then, almost every people lived in Joseon Dynasty were illiterate. But with easy and perfect Hunminjeongeum people could finally began to read what they wanted to read.

Isn’t he incredible?

↑ This is the photo of King Sejong. He is not only brilliant but also handsome, right??

↑ I went to the museum called ‘The story of King Sejong’. It was very well organized and I could get all the information I wanted about King Sejong.

↑All these displays were very informative and helpful to know about what King Sejong had done for the people who are in need.

↑ And it’s very well prepared for the kids to learn about King Sejong in fun way. They can watch an animation about King Sejong or they can draw Hunmin Jeongeum in their style. Doesn’t it sound exciting for them?

↑Those are the pictures of King Sejong’s achievements. He performed himself not only in creating Hunmin Jeongeum but also in science, art and policy. He really was a hero and should be respected by the world.

Now. Let me give you a short summary of King Sejong’s creating Hunmin Jeongeum.

If you want to find out more about King Sejong, you can visit this exhibition. It’s located near the Gwanghwamun square! and guess what….. it’s free!!!! Unbelievable right? I’m sure you’ll visit this place:)

↑Me and my friend had a great chance to wear King Sejong’s uniform and take a picture in front of the statue of King Sejong.

He was a great king in our history and will be thought as the most proud king forever.
